  1. I tried to comment on your day 2 of paleo, but it wouldn’t let me 🙁
    Awesome job on the food choices and the running WOD! You’re off to a good start. Don’t beat yourself up too much about the apple/nuts in the meal. They are paleo, but you just want to cut them out for now so you can be strick to allow your body to adjust and maximize weight loss.
    The first few weeks are going to SUCK! You will quickly realize how much your body relies on sugar b/c of how we have been brain washed into thinking we need it. That and it’s in EVERYTHING! Now that you are reading labels, you will see. It’s hard to find stuff that doesn’t have High fructose corn syrup, sugar, or any other “ose” in it.
    Anyway, they probably told you this as well, but in the event they didn’t, you might also notice that your workouts will suffer for a little bit too in the beginning. Don’t let this discourage you either. It’s only because your body is adjusting to burning FAT for fuel and not stored SUGAR. This will improve with time and eventually, your scores and performance will bound forth with greatness as well! To the point that if you “cheat”, (which you shouldn’t, but as you have seen me post before,I have stupidly), that will negatively effect you in your workouts. And that my friend is a pretty cool thing when you have your body trained to burn the fat for fuel so that when you eat the “crap” it makes you feel like poop. Which then further reaffirms why you should never eat the shit in the first place!

    Thanks for your advice, and encouragement. I am going to win, there is no question about it, I am confident because leading up to the Challenge, I could feel my body starting to feel primed, and it was waiting for a push into that next threshold.
    If yesterdays WoD showed me anything, it’s that I have to not fear those things that I am challenged by, but deliberately pursue them so I can overcome them.
    Deliberate Practice is something I’m trying to add to my vocabulary. This idea is apparently what differentiates the greatest athletes from the average ones, because they choose to pursue and work on what they are weakest at, and challenged by, incremental steps in this realm is how I am going to win this bitch.
    Thanks for your insights, you are a constant motivator to those that are athletically challenged.

Thanks 🙂 Feel free to tell me to shut the hell up when you’re tired of hearing what my mouth spouts out 🙂 I just really love fitness and nutrition so it feels great to see other people succeed at it! If you stick to your guns, you’ll by all means win! Just dont tell Twon I told you so 😉
