07/11/2011 Day 3 of Rest
There must be some chart that outlines the number of days it takes to recover from a night of drinking in relation to your age, the older you get the longer it takes to feel normal after alcohol consumption. In my twenties I could drink 3 or 4 nights straight and feel awesome the day after it all, after drinking Saturday night I needed all day Sunday, and most of today to even start to feel normal.
A good chunk of my time I felt tired. I did get back on track in terms of my eating, it is incredible how easily habits can get broken, and then how hard it is to get things on point. The entire day I craved foods that I hadn’t wanted in quite some time. I almost grabbed a bag of chips in the early afternoon, but ended up eating an orange instead. I just couldn’t believe the impulse was there to eat that shit again.
I am going to Atlantic City tomorrow. I cooked my breakfast for two mornings, and lunch for the next three days. Dinner I figure I can fend for myself and still make good choices. It will be a test not to put on anymore weight. Hopefully I will find my way back to the correct borders, and know what country I’m supposed to be in…the one where all the fit people live.
The next three days will be a test of my will, and my desire to continue to lose weight and not fall into that place of comfort. I will post while I'm there, hopefully I will have good news most of the time.
The three hour drive to AC is going to be like the Christians walking the tunnel of the Coliseum before they do battle with Gladiators and Lions. Hopefully I don't get mauled.
You can do it, but if you can’t I could use the win. =) Seriously though you got this!
I long for those days when recovery from a bender was quick and easy.
