Who gives a shit about BMI?
What started off with the feeling I wouldn’t move much on the scale, turned into a shocking surprise. When I weighed myself Tuesday morning it didn’t look good, so I stayed away from the scale until Sunday Morning, low and behold I dropped 6 lbs.
As much as I think I have this weight loss thing figured out, I clearly have no understanding of my body or when I am going to drop weight, my intuitions, feelings, impulses, and rabbit’s feet are all about as useful as tits on a bull. I can’t help it deep inside I’m a yellowneck (I’ve trademarked this).
What amazes me is that as my weeks go on, I am less and less confident in my ability to sustain this weight loss, losing 6 lbs in a week is significant and most doctors would probably say it’s hazardous to my health. I am confident in my ability to do the work, to stick to the nutritional plan, but not confident in the understanding of my own physiology. How long can someone really lose 5-6 lbs a week and not suffer from type of abnormality? I know I’m also a fat hypochondriac apparently.
I can’t pinpoint any one thing that I did or that happened this week which changed my 1 lbs loss the previous week into a 6 lbs loss this week, for all I know my body released or used the energy of the 6 lbs last week and it took 7 days for it to manifest itself on the scale.
I guess what I’m saying is, I’m still learning what my body really needs. I do plan on taking some advice this week, and I’m going to slow my roll a bit, and see if 1 week on strong and 1 week on medium will be able to sustain a longer period of strong weeks. Last weeks two a days is for sure a strong week so this week my plan is as follows:

I’ve eliminated any prolonged cardio, my Friday will be just a single Crossfit workout, Monday and Wednesday I’m adding short intense cardio sessions only if I feel that I need more work if I’m beat from Crossfit I won’t do them. Tuesday, Thursday I am still going to do two workouts.
Weight Loss Competition
So the weight loss competition with Dwayne, Kent, Sherri, and me is going into it’s 7th week. I of course am back at the top of the leader board with my third win this week. So the score as of today is Louis 3 weeks, Kent 2 weeks, Sherri 1 week, Dwayne 0 weeks.
Dwayne has basically stopped communicating with us, I’m not sure if he’s busy or just in a funk. I hope it’s not the kind of funk that causes him to go off the deep end and start gaining weight. Come on GUY it’s time to reconnect to stay afloat.
