Day 1 at Fitness Ridge Malibu
The drive from the airport up the PCH (or Pacific Coast Highway for interlopers such as myself), was beautiful, even with the perisstent rain, and grey sky, the pacific coastline is majestic.
It took an hour to get from LAX to Fitness Ridge, when the driver pulled up to the lobby I was a bit dissapointed. I don’t know what I expected but, I guess because they like to loosely interpret the word “resort”and call themselves a “resort” I was at least expecting a luxurious facility…then I remembered the point of this place is to kick your butt.
After check-in, and orientation I am a bit a skeptical so far, first it’s been a bit too touchy feely. Perhaps it’s because the majority of the people at this place are women, or perhaps it reinfiroces my theory that most fat people are deeply damaged, but I wasn’t expecting so much “feeling” and “group love”. Second I don’t like eating a group setting with strangers. The dining hall is cafeteria style, and you sit next to random people. Maybe I’m a dick but I came here to get a job done, I don’t want to make friends, or leave here with a “support group”. I am here to break my shitty eating habbits, and shed some pounds.
Who know what I will be posting tomorrow, but my intiial gut feeling doesn’t make me feel justified with the overall cost of this trip. We will see after a full day tomorrow.
