Title: Manage your attitude daily.

Attitude…Attitude….Attitude…
Today Maxwell discusses the impact of attitude on life. Much of what John Maxwell writes about relate to controlling internal mechanisms to achieve success. Attitude in Maxwell’s mind is the lens through which you see the world. He references how often in business there’s a hyper focus on making decisions and a lack of concern on maintaining existing decisions.
He correlates this notion of decision making to an individual’s mindset. If you choose to start the day angry then you approach everything with hostility, yet if you choose to have a good attitude you’ll continue to reinforce this behavior. Maxwell states “maintaining the right attitude is easier than regaining the right attitude”.

Make the decision to have a good attitude today, then manage that decision for the rest of your life.

This is a challenge for me. My desire to constantly improve keeps me in a constantly disgruntled. I’m considering the addition to take on the challenge of starting the day with a good attitude.
There’s a Korean proverb related to this but not about attitude, it’s about happiness.
기쁨은 나누면 배가 되고 슬픔은 나누면 반이 된다.
Being happy counts as double, while being sad counts as half.
Leave it to Asians to connect life to math, but it holds true. When you are happy life is amplified, when you are sad life sometimes doesn’t seem worth living.
I’m going to try and start each day with a happy attitude. Let’s see what happens, I’ll either remain younger throughout the year, or kill someone.
