Back Squats
5-5-5
Warmed up with
sets of 5 @
135 lbs – 165 lbs – 205 lbs
Work sets
225 lbs – 225 lbs – 235 lbs
Struggled on last rep of 235 lbs, but I think I could have done 235 lbs for two sets if not all three.
Metcon:
- 3 Rounds
- 1 minute push press 75 lbs
- 1 minute sit ups
- 1 minute Russian Kettlebell Swing 70 lbs
- No rest Between Rounds
My rounds went like this:
Round 1: 40 – 30 – 30 = 100
Round 2: 32 – 26 – 31 = 89
Round 3: 27 – 25 – 31 = 83
Total Score: 272
At the end I wondered if I had put down the barbell or kettlebell during the 1 minute of work in the second and third round, could I have gotten more rests by allowing my grip and my muscles to recover for a moment, and then explosivley continuing, instead of just pushing through like I normally do…I'm not sure the next time I see a WoD like this I'm going to try that in one of the later working rounds.
The goal is NOT to get the most reps, the goal is to push yourself as hard as possible. We simply elicit that effort by keeping score.
Focus on pushing through and completing reps when you’re at the moment of exhaustion and that is when you’ll see change/break records/advance.
