Official Weigh In:
308 Lbs
33.5 % Body Fat
In moving forward I spent some time reflecting on the road which has lead me to where I am today just shy of 300 lbs. I realize that the weight gain which I went through was a direct result of poor choices, which turned into poor habits, and eventually become a poor lifestyle. I recall as the weight was being packed on, that it happened so quickly, my subconscious mind wouldn’t accept what was happening to my body.
I remember how essentially I kept wearing one pair of sweat pants, and the same sweatshirt. It was like a fat uniform. Obviously the elastic waist band was not the best type of clothing to wear, as I am certain the elasticity played a significant role in my weight gain, it’s so easy to just loosen the strings to let a little more room out. I also remember the first time I bought new fat clothes, and the first time I went to a Big and Tall store to buy clothes. It was the most demoralizing experience of my life. Never have I ever been so physically big, and emotionally small.
My visit to the fat guy store today was a different kind of experience. I went to buy a couple pairs of shorts as my current size 50 pants are loose. I originally intended just to buy 1 or 2 pairs of size 48 so I could make it down to the next pant size of 46. When I went to try the pants on I said what the fuck, I’ll try on a pair of 46 pants. To my surprise they fit. In fact they fit like pants are supposed, further they fit without having to use the “relax fit”, which is fat guy for these pants might fit when I stand up but when I sit down I need a little more room.
This gave me a good enough feeling that I decided to try on some shirts. I have been wearing a 3xl shirt. Today I tried on a 2xl shirt, and was surprised to find that it fit. I was so excited that I bought 5 pairs of shorts, and 3 shirts. I know this will last me a month or so, as I move down to a pants size which can be found at most stores. I was so excited that at the checkout counter I told the lady about my blog, and how much weight I have lost. It’s the first time I’ve just offered that information to a perfect stranger. It’s moments like these which will keep me moving forward.
Tomorrow will be the first day that I wear size 46 shorts, and a 2 xl shirt. It’s going to be another good week.
My workout plan is going to be a little varied. I decided to eliminate two cardio session this week, and do only two workouts on Wednesday. I am hoping the variation will cause my body to react positively, and help continue the weight loss.

Good job Lou! Glad you have been keeping it going. Makes me feel guilty not going and working out.
YOU ROCK!!
308 – nice work!!!!
We should have coordinated on clothes – my starting high was 309 and I just recycled a tonne of 2xl shirts and 46 in dress pants the other day!
Way to go!
Thanks everyone. @ Kent I know, they should have a descending supply train of clothes at fitness ridge. I’m feeling the 300 in the next two weeks.
